Production
Mussel production for the 2000/01 season was approximately 1,500 tonnes and this rose to around 2,100 tonnes in 2001/02.2002/03 and 2003/04 have also shown a consistent growth and signs are that this will continue for 2005/06.
These significant increases will be a combination of increased production from existing members and new members joining the Group.
The number and geographical spread of the farms enables the Group to achieve continuity of supply as adverse weather or other conditions normally only affect a limited number of the farms.
